Headlines of the day

More furor over civil rights abuses against jailed terrorists...prisoner who committed suicide is buried, and his family claims he was tortured to death...
No, not Gitmo, GERMANY...

I'm old enough to remember the terrorism of the 1970's...and several Red Brigade terrorists back then also "committed suicide" in German jails....is there a trend here?

But of course, it is bigbadGitmo that the UN wants closed...and the headlines this week is about a riot...when guards tried to stop someone from committing suicide...

no report of the UN protesting human rights abuses in German prisons...of course...
I was going to point out the hypocracy of people condeming the jailing of Alquada trainees from Afghanistan while not condemning the jailing of Filippinos who carried bibles and rosaries in Saudi Arabia ...however others write a lot better than I do.
Check out VDH in his latest spiel on anti American hypocracy...and BlondSagacity points out the UN seems more worried about terrorists in Gitmo than women and children in Dafur...and LINK ex spook suggests they are acting out so they won't be transferred home to Saudi Jails...

Oh, I'm sorry, I'm ranting again....must check caffiene...must check caffiene..

Ah, but let's go to the really important news. According to Yahoo, the most popular headline of the day is:
