Colombia makes a lot of money exporting roses to the US. Kenya is trying to do the same, but the "carbon footprint" idea may destroy that business...more poor people thanks to ecology...He told the Guardian that cut flower companies in Kenya employ 500,000 people and perhaps a million more who work in related service industries. “Food miles is a valuable concept,” he said, “but it must be looked at in the whole.”
