Headlines below the fold

Stategypage has the latest on the Philippines...
They mention that not only are Christians moving into Mindanao, but Muslims are moving out. This is true. We have relatives there running a pharmacy. And one now sees Muslim women on the street. Much of our help comes from the Visayas, but a neighbor has a Muslim maid, and Mindanao women also go to Saudi to work as maids.

Serbia, Kosovo, and the Muslim/Christian fight...BBC newsreaders gritted their teeth last night reporting the warm reception... the Albanian/Bosnia/Muslim thing goes back centuries, and may be one reason Putin is so mad. LINK and the "muslims" used to be Bogomils, but asked the Turks in to stop persecution...

And notice the speech about Wilson? Lots of our problems go back to the treaty of Versailles...

Miss Manners, move over...the NYTimes reports the etiquette of Jihad...essentially it's okay to kill innocent women and children, but first you need daddy's permission...

And if the news is depressing, go to Miss Cellania; she has a bunch of engineer jokes today including how engineers are different than people:
Normal people ... believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.

Hey, Luke, sounds like you are an engineer...
