Headlines below the fold

Some web sites were discussing if Vegans would turn to meat if they tried to survive a major catastrophe. My essay here pointed out that in a true famine, meat was not the problem: ordinary food was.... my Aunt ate tree bark in an Austrian famine of 1919-1921...to see stuff people have eaten in the past, check this site...

Bush is visiting the Middle East...the MSM is either ignoring it or muttering cliches.....NYTimes front page has one article, below a football story. Al Jezeerah (the only "free" press in the Arab world) has better coverage... Professor Mansur points out that Bush has introduced a new element into the volitile mix: A fledgling democracy.... Gateway Pundit has coverage...
Lots of stuff behind the visit: The explosion of prosperity in the Gulf states, the fact that ex Baathist government officials can now work for the new government in Iraq is big news, The mopping up battles going on in Iraq...StrategyPage has information too.
Longer essay moved to BNN so as not to bore you...

Another unreported story: Canadian censorship of free speech.
Instapundit has links...there is a lot of Anti Islamic stuff on line, and it would really help if these problems were discussed politely, but censoring someone who brings up a valid point is not the way to impose civility...
