A Victorian Tea party

TeaAtTrianonBlog discusses afternoon tea...

If you wish to have a real afternoon tea party, check LINK

includes recipes...and yes, they do eat cucumber sandwiches...
Although my type of cucumber sandwich would be this one, that includes avocados.

In Africa, we used avocado instead of butter for morning tea, and we baked our own bread, since the nearest bakery was 50 miles away down dirt roads.
But for some reason, we couldn't grow avocadoes in our area, but when I visited our out clinic, sister would always pick a few huge ones from the smaller trees to send back.

In exchange, we would send grapefruit to them: for some reason, we could grow grapefruit trees.

Here in the Philippines, afternoon snack is called marienda, and the usual food is either pancit noodles or spaghetti with sweet tomato sauce, cheddar cheese, and sliced hot dogs...usually served with soft drinks.
