Science headlines below the fold

An old Malaria treatment was methylene blue (yes, the stain you used in high school biology).
Now one study shows that it increases the cure rate when combined with another antimalarial drug and cuts down the rate of resistance....

does getting the dead flu vaccine lead to more hospitalizations for kids with flu?
and is it vaccine related, or only because we tend to give the vaccine to the kids most at risk for complications?

Earlier studies suggested stem cells might help the dying heart (using patient's own stem cells) but now it's been found a simple injection of bone marrow helps too...
does it cause new muscle cells to grow, or change the destruction by other immune cells?
