Factoid of the day



Pearl Millet was first domesticated 5000=8000 years ago in sub Saharan due to climate changes that was drying up the Sahara. more HERE.

when I worked in Africa, the folks usually grew some as a "backup crop" in case there wasn't enough rain for the corn crop. Since it was easier to digest than Maize porridge (sadza) we used to instruct our moms to make it for their newly weaned children (and add either buttermilk or peanut butter to make it high protein).
