Stories below the fold

Druggies are overdosing, according to Drudge.

What's happening? Well, since pot is becoming "Decriminalized" the price is down and the drug lords are pushing heroin instead. And the druggies, who were smoking pot to get high (not to relieve pain) found heroin gave them a better high. They are also pushing Meth, which is the drug causing the problems here in the Philippines, albeit usually from Chinese or North Korean suppliers.

Decriminalization is not about reducing crime: It is about normalizing drug use, so that the rich yuppie elites can justify their making profits on the poor (i.e. banks that money launder etc) and think it is normal if they take it themselves.

what is not in the conversation: The harm to families. (usually the pro pot legalization either dismiss this, or say it's "no worse" than alcohol. Yes, if you are talking about heavy drinkers I agree. But only 10 percent of people who use alcohol are heavy drinkers).

I blame the churches: When was the last time you heard a sermon against getting high or drunk in church?

Na, they are too busy dismissing anything as sin, and destroying dogmas that might upset someone.

The PC group  from the very liberal catholic bishop's conference, aka "Catholics" and easy going Lutherans have made nice.

Like "communion for the divorced and remarried", this is pushed in order to make people feel good, but in reality it is a stealth attack on the holiness of the Eucharist.....if you cut through the happy rhetoric, it posits the Eucharist as nothing more than a happy symbol for people to celebrate each other's goodness.

In this I agree with the comment made by the late Flannery O'Connor:

Well, if it's a symbol the hell with it.

And the comment made by that sardonic Jewish carpenter comes in mind: Pearls before swine anyone?
