I'm heard a podcast about this book, on the shipwreck that saved Jamestown. (and inspired Shakespeare's last play, the Tempest).
Factoid: John Rolfe lost his wife and baby during the stay in Bermuda...his claim to fame is that he later married Pocahontas...
but he also is the father of the tobacco industry in the English colonies, because he brought seeds smuggled in from the Spanish tobacco bred in the West Indies. and then he crossbred this tobacco with the local tobacco that was harsher...
Another factoid: His marriage in Pocahontas only produced one child, a girl, but among her descendants is Admiral Byrd, the pilot and Arctic/antarctic explorer.
