storm signals ahead: Culture war

...

...

the local PhilInquirer of course has an editorial seeing the firing of Kimmel as a blow against freedom of speech.

So the international media is parroting the talking points of the left wing of the Democratic party.

Usually I would not object since I am a Democrat, but I do have a problem when a so called comedian spouts lies about a deliberate murder of someone whose opinions they disagree with.

The Democrats as a whole have quietly  condemned the crime, but prefer to point fingers at guns rather than the explosion of hate by their followeers who wish death on anyone agreeing with Kirk.

Well President Obama lamented the crime, but he did not do a "Sister Souljah" moment and correct those who spread inflammatory lies about what happened.

A Sister Souljah moment is a politician's calculated public repudiation of an extremist person, statement, group, or position that is perceived to have some association with the politician's own party.
It has been described as "a key moment when the candidate takes what at least appears to be a bold stand against certain extremes within their party" and as "a calculated denunciation of an extremist position or special interest group."
This act is intended to be a signal to centrist voters that the politician is not beholden to those positions or interest groups.

italics mine.

And as long as they quietly let the more rabid of the party grab headlines, the more Democrats and Independents will leave the party.

Just sayin'.

As I mentioned before, I hadn't heard of the guy, but apparently he was known well enough in the youth culture that he was parodied on South Park (no I don't watch SP either):
