Tired of CNN ? Blogs have a braoder picture of disaster

When even Bill Clinton tells off CNN, then maybe you should look not to the NYTIMES, who is more upset that Bush is not articulate than in presenting helpful editorials, but other sources for your news...

Want to know what is really going on in the south? Try reading blogs...

INSTAPUNDIT
has an email about why large trucks have to use interstates, and lots of other links...

JunkYardDog questions why the New Orleans local officials didn't use school buses to evacuate the poorer citizens...

Drudge has asked "Where are the buses", and since his link changes constantly, OutsideTheBeltway has a photo....

The Interdictor has live feed links and frequent first hand updates...

The Mudville Gazette
has links to the Defense dept and about the National Guard arriving in N.O.

The Anchoress
summarizes the Federal Govt response

And remember my previous post that I suspect every Baptist church in Oklahoma has loaded supplies and strong youth group kids to help? Scrappleface has a report...

The flashy headlines tell one story, but the many ordinary people taking in refugees are not yet reported on CNN...and also unreported is the task of rebuilding...

Having seen how many ordinary people volunteer to help when Grand Forks and other Minnesota and North Dakota towns were devestated, I suspect that we are seeing only the start of a massive recovery effort. And, like the rebuilding of Grand Forks, one suspects that few reports will go on CNN about the response...

However, to defend CNN: One of their reporters did slam Englend of the UN for pontificating and not saying anything this morning...she even brought up how Americans were bitter that we help everyone, but got few offers to help when we have a million refugees...so CNN is not all bad...
