remember COMA? Yup. They are using coma patients as guinea pigs.

Slay Magazine reports that Arthur Caplan has discussed how they are using "Grain dead" patients to use for experiments.

Professor Caplan revealed that NYU Langone Health operates a research ward using the bodies of neurologically injured patients for experimentation. Caplan referred to the patients as “neomorts” and the experimental facilities as “bioemporia.”

since I am not familiar with the site, I will post the podcast from Youtube.

the next step in killing: Persuade you to kill yourself then kill you by taking your organs

The NEJM published a dozen pro euthanasia articles in the early 1990s, and as a result I quite the Mass Medical society in protest since that magazine was sponsored by the MMS.

But apparently they are still pushing murder as medicine.

This from 2008

Voluntary Euthanasia — Implications for Organ Donation | NEJM Sep 5, 2018 ·

Canada now permits physicians to hasten the death of a patient by means of physician-assisted suicide or voluntary euthanasia. This development creates a new pathway for,,,

 and this one last week

Contextualizing the Dead Donor Rule in an Era of Voluntary ...

Growing acceptance of voluntary euthanasia, which opens the door to death by organ donation, warrants a recontextualization of the dead donor rule and assessment of the ethical principles involved.

Even NPR is worried.

A new proposal for organ donation sparks concern

Ya think?

the bad news is that this is already being done in Canada (and probably in Europe)....and as Canada shows a move to helping depressed people kill themselves, you can see how easily they can be persuaded choosing death will benefit someone whereas if they stay alive their lives have no meaning.

I will have to figure out full links later of course. But my point is that this is not a popular opinion but one being pushed by those in charge of medicine.

this means the entire Hippocratic Oath has been destroyed by the woke in charge of medicine, yet for some reason it hasn't gotten a lot of publicity, even in my medical reading.

And where the hell are all the bishops and the Pope?

If you thought Trumpieboy was blasphemous, what about Obama the Messiah?

since the Obama/Axelrod types are manipulating the media complaining that a tweet showing Trumpieboy as faithhealer to the world is blasphemy because he is posting a meme showing him as Jesus, well, you know. all the good Catholic reporters and followers on Twitter are busy echoing the same line...,

Blasphemy!

Why does this sound familiar?

it isn't as if it hasn't been done before: except not as a criticism but to praise their messiah:

Politico article from 2007 discusses the adoration of Obama as the Messiah.

Heh.

There was even a blog: Is Barack Obama the Messiah

Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

"... a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama" - Barack Obama Lebanon, New Hampshire.
January 7, 2008.

Leo is only doing his job, saying peace peace peace!

who could be against world peace!

and the Catholic trad and others trying to curry favor are busy telling Catholics it is a sin to criticize the Pope.
Really? Tell Catherine of Sienna that.

.................................

Seriously: The Language guy who is from Venezuela and knows a little about South American left wing Catholics connects the dots.

 ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

But for myself, the reason I am so sarcastic about this is that the Pope is saying we love people and we want to stop the killing, but in the meanwhile he appoints a pro euthanasia bioethicist to the Prolife board in the Vatican.

In a second incident, also that year, Pegoraro appeared to support two members of the academy who publicly favored assisted suicide as a tactic to prevent the legalization of voluntary euthanasia in Italy. “We are in a specific context, with a choice to be made between two options, neither of which — assisted suicide or euthanasia — represents the Catholic position,” Pegoraro told the French Catholic newspaper La Croix. But stating that he believed some kind of law was a foregone conclusion, he said that of the two possibilities, “assisted suicide is the one that most restricts abuses because it would be accompanied by four strict conditions: the person asking for help must be conscious and able to express it freely, have an irreversible illness, experience unbearable suffering, and depend on life-sustaining treatment such as a respirator.”

That last part is a lie. Respirators are extraordinary treatment, and under Catholic moral laws since Pius XII time you can stop or refuse extraordinary treatment. But in today's bioethics, it means you can starve a person to death by calling feeding a medical treatment.

As for guidelines meaning safety, anyone familiar with the literature knows that is a lie.

This is not a complicated matter, and Europe and now the US is sliding into a Brave New World of eugenics and euthanasia. But the Pope's appointed expert isn't bothered by that. And of course, the Democratic party in the US is busy supporting politicians who will pass these laws. But don't condemn murdering grandmom (or your grandkid) because if you don't go along with the entire seamless garment political agenda of what is now the Democratic party, you aren't allowed to say you are Catholic.

Bishop VonGalen call your office: The Pope needs a talking to.

Ehrlich's legacy

SciFi writer Sarah Hoyt has an essay on elite planners trying to run the lives of ordinary people: and notes that people are not widgets to be bossed around.

And she brings up the way the elites loved Ehrlich's ideas, which would limit the children to save the planet.

what actually allowed Ehrlich to do harm was this idea — which the poor man (I’m convinced he has not idea how toxic he sounds) above echoes so exactly: the idea that governments CAN AND SHOULD determine how the people of the nation should live: how many people should be born, how many die, what’s “sustainable”, what they can eat, what they can’t, how much they should exercise, what type of work they should do, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum and ad vomitus.

just like the west is ignorant of China's cultural revolution when students embrace the cancel culture, because the only film that showed what happens when the cancel culture idiots get in charge was the Three Body problem, so too, if you want to see how Ehrlich's ideas were implemented by China, you need to read Mo Yan's novvel Frog: about forced abortions.

No I don't know of anywhere to download it for free . And most reviewers seem to concentrate on the main character and don't get horrified that she not only does forced abortions, but she searches out women who try to hide their pregnancy and aborts them: And in the book, two of these women die because of this.

Presumably the reviewers didn't get upset at these deaths, but concentrate on things like character development. Sigh.

the under publicized story of La Diabla

I had posted about China's use of newborns for transplants, and the story was unclear if they were just using brain dead children to save lives.

But then I found this in my X feed:

,,,,,,

La Diabla who kidnapped pregnant women to sell organs and babies?

the story is from late September, and since then... nothing.

Tulsi Gabbard is of course a Democrat who ran against Biden and Kamela in the primaries a few years ago, and is also a veteran. So she is hated by partisan media operatives of both sides.

So presumably she is trustworthy. So what is the story and why has the press ignored it?

there are only a few stories about it on Google'search. Here is one from CBS NEWS from September.

Martha Alicia Mendez Aguilar, known as "La Diabla," was captured on Sept. 2 after officials say the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, referred to by the U.S. as CJNG, lured a handful of pregnant women — often in vulnerable or impoverished circumstances — to remote areas. Once there, CJNG traffickers allegedly performed illegal cesarean operations on the women, killing the mothers and allegedly harvesting their organs postmortem, and placing newborns into illicit markets, according to senior intelligence officials. The infants were then sold to couples in the United States for as much as 250,000 pesos or roughly $14,000 each, according to the senior intelligence officials.

The rumors of killing people for organs is widespread, and often just hysterical propaganda, but in this case apparently it is true, with authorities from two governments verifying it.

So where are the reporters covering the story?

the few stories I found just paraphrased the US Govt oress release from late September. and this video is one of a very few on the youtube site:.......

.........................................

so what has happened since then? are there no investigative reporters checking who in the US sold the babies or where they were?

So I asked Grok who answered:

Tulsi Gabbard broke La Diabla story so who bought the babies Searched for ""La Diabla" Tulsi Gabbard babies OR trafficking OR bought" 15 results Show All (5) Tulsi Gabbard, as Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in the second Trump administration, publicly highlighted the case of "La Diabla" (real name Martha Alicia Méndez Aguilar) during an October 2025 White House roundtable on border security and human trafficking. She credited U.S. intelligence sharing—via a new National Intelligence Fusion Cell and the National Counterterrorism Center—with enabling Mexican authorities to arrest her in Juárez, Mexico, on September 2, 2025.

Gabbard described the operation as one of the "most insidious" cartel crimes, involving luring vulnerable pregnant women (often with fake job offers or aid promises), performing forced illegal C-sections, killing the mothers, harvesting their organs for sale, and trafficking the newborns.

The babies were reportedly sold for around 250,000 Mexican pesos each (roughly $13,000–$14,000 USD at the time), primarily to couples in the United States seeking infants through illicit channels. This crossed into U.S. jurisdiction because the sales targeted American buyers, which is why U.S. intelligence got involved.

As of November 2025, no specific buyers have been publicly identified or charged. One report from One America News Network (OANN) in late October 2025 stated that the joint U.S.-Mexico investigation "remains active while authorities search for past buyers," indicating efforts to trace and prosecute those who purchased the infants are ongoing, but no names or arrests on the buyer side have been announced.

The focus so far has been on dismantling the cartel network and arresting operators like La Diabla (affiliated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, or CJNG).

And then I asked Grok for more information on US Mexican human trafficking investigations.

Here are some notable recent US-Mexico joint or bilateral human trafficking and smuggling busts (focusing on 2024–2025), excluding the "La Diabla" case involving forced C-sections and baby sales. These primarily involve sex trafficking, forced labor, child smuggling (often for exploitation or adoption fraud), and migrant smuggling networks that frequently overlap with trafficking. Many are coordinated through the DOJ's Joint Task Force Alpha (JTFA) or ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Date Operation/Case Key Details Arrests/Outcomes

November 2024 Rendon-Reyes Trafficking Organization Long-running (2004–2014, but indicted/unsealed in 2024) family-run ring forcing Mexican women and girls into prostitution in New York, Atlanta, and Alabama.

Coordinated arrests in Mexico and Queens, NY. 8 arrested (5 in Mexico, 3 in US); 27-count indictment for sex trafficking, money laundering, and racketeering.

September 2025 Guadian-Valenzuela Child Smuggling Conspiracy (El Paso/Juárez) Alien smuggling organization trafficking unaccompanied children aged 5–13 from Juárez, Mexico, into Texas for exploitation (often handed to unvetted sponsors). Part of expanded JTFA efforts. 4 charged (including Dianne Guadian and Manuel Valenzuela arrested in El Paso); ongoing investigation into network.

July 2024 Abdul Karim Conteh Smuggling Network Sierra Leone national leading organization smuggling thousands of migrants (many vulnerable to trafficking) through Mexico into the US; arrested in Tijuana at US request. 1 key leader arrested and sanctioned; extradition pending; organization designated for Treasury sanctions. March 2025 (older network, fugitive captured)

Granados/Ramirez-Granados Sex Trafficking Ring Tenancingo, Mexico-based family network romancing/coercing women into prostitution in Mexico and US; one of ICE's top 10 most wanted captured after years on the run. Key fugitive Paulino Ramirez-Granados arrested in Mexico; prior related convictions.

Ongoing 2024–2025 Lopez Human Smuggling Organization (Guatemala-Mexico-US) Guatemala-based ring (with Sinaloa Cartel ties in some ops) smuggling migrants through Mexico to US states like New Mexico, Arizona, and California; often leads to debt bondage/trafficking.

Multiple indictments/arrests in 2023–2024; leader sanctioned by Treasury in 2025; thousands of victims affected.

November 2025 Bhardwaj Human Trafficking Organization (BHTO) Mexico-based transnational network (Sinaloa Cartel links) smuggling migrants from Europe, Middle East, Asia, and South America through Mexico into US for profit/exploitation.Network sanctioned by US Treasury; ongoing disruptions (no specific arrest counts public yet).

Additional ContextChild-focused cases are rising but rare in public busts compared to the La Diabla horror; most involve smuggling unaccompanied minors who end up in forced labor (e.g., agriculture, factories) or sex trafficking after poor sponsor vetting by HHS. Mexico reported 661 new trafficking investigations in 2024 (many cross-border), but convictions remain low due to corruption and impunity.

US efforts (via JTFA, expanded in 2025) have led to hundreds of arrests annually, but cartels like CJNG and Sinaloa dominate the trade, blending migrant smuggling with outright trafficking.

No other 2024–2025 case matches the exact brutality of harvesting/selling newborns, though child smuggling networks often feed into illegal adoptions or exploitation in the US. Investigations into buyers/sponsors in child cases are typically slower and less publicized than operator arrests. Details on JTFA operations CJNG cartel trafficking role

another related video:

....

this video which is one month old says La Diabla has been released.

but Grok says no: apparently she was released after her September arrest but then arrested again.

No, "La Diabla" (full name Martha Alicia Méndez Aguilar) has not been released as of November 15, 2025.She was arrested on September 2, 2025, in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, in a joint U.S.-Mexican operation supported by U.S. intelligence from the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC). She is accused of leading a horrific infant trafficking ring affiliated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), involving luring pregnant women, performing illegal cesareans, harvesting organs from the mothers (often killing them), and selling the newborns (for up to ~$14,000 USD each, primarily to couples in the U.S.).
There were earlier reports in early September 2025 suggesting she was briefly released or not formally charged in one initial hearing due to alleged judicial corruption.
However, she was immediately re-arrested on escalated charges including femicide (feminicidio agravado), attempted homicide, human trafficking, and organized crime. She remains in custody in a Mexican prison (Cereso Femenil in Chihuahua), with the investigation ongoing and additional charges possible. Recent updates as late as October 2025 confirm the case is active, and she is still detained.
Sources include official U.S. government releases (ODNI/NCTC), CBS News, Border Report, and Mexican outlets like Milenio and Infobae, with no credible reports of release after the September re-arrest.

organ donor infant

NTD is associated with the FalunGang religious group which is illegal in China and their is a scandal that some were political prisoners who were killed to sell their organs. LINK

;;;before you point fingers at China, remember when Project Veritas found that Planned Parenthood was getting organs from late term abortions (and the local Dcmocrats  in California made sure that PV was sued).
I am so old that I remember when the AMA and their ethicists backed  the idea of getting organs from Anencephalic babies 40 years ago: The problem? These kids have a brain stem, so it means they don't meet the brain dead criteria, and if allowed, it is a quick ethical slide into using people in comas for organs (something the ethicists have also been trying to push for 30 years) as one can see from this proposal in Lancet in Nov 1997. This met opposition as this letter from Lancet in 1998 shows:

The announcement on television and radio by J Radcliffe-Richards on behalf of the International Forum for Transplant Ethics (preceding the group's Lancet paper ), suggesting that patients in permanent vegetative state (PVS), in whom a court had given consent to withdrawal of treatment, could be given a lethal injection to expedite death so that their organs can be removed for transplantation must be challenged
The use of a lethal injection to terminate the life of an individual who is clearly alive although without cognitive brain function and in whom established brain death criteria are not fulfilled is to be deplored, however well meant. The proposal suggests euthanasia and, even worse, smacks of the activities of totalitarian regimes.

murder organs: we haz that

Canada has eagarly embraced killing people: and it has almost became black humor in the memes.

So where are the people condemning the fact that some are being pressured into dying, or even being killed by relatives without asking for it?

But hey, like the selling of baby parts from second and third term abortions (something that got Project Veritas sued for exposing the illegal practice), the next profit making venture might be getting organs from the handicapped killed by MAID.

well at least Planned Parenthood had enough shame to keep it a secret.

In Canada they are harvesting organs from those asking to die. And they aren't even ashamed enough of this that they are willing to let it be discussed in the National Post.

What is the problem?

Depressed people will more willingly agree to die if they see their death will benefit others

How far has organ donations gone in Canada?

From MSN: National post of canada:

An American man dying of heart failure received the heart of a Canadian man with ALS who chose a medically assisted death in what is being described as a landmark case of a heart transplant following euthanasia. Organs have been donated after MAID before, involving liver, kidney or lung transplants.

“Here we report the first case of a successful cardiac transplantation after MAID,” a team of doctors from The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and The Ottawa Hospital report in the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation .

Hole on a second.

Shouldn't it be illegal for American hospitals to do this?

When I lived in western Pennsylvania 30 years ago, we often sent our car accident victims to U Pitt: And the EMTs used to cynically call these transfers Body Runs, implying that they were not being sent for neurosurgery but so that when they were declared brain dead, their organs would be harvested.

we were cynical but had enough trust in the hospital not to see this as a way to exploit the injured, but merely a side effect since we trusted them to try their best to keep the person alive before asking for their organs.

However, this might not be true today.

A recent report from RFK Jr's HHS reveal that not all those people were dead.

HHS Finds Systemic Disregard for Sanctity of Life in Organ Transplant System says the headline, and RFK Jr says he plans to fix it.

but just admitting this was not an urban legend but really happened resulted in a lot of people not filling out organ donor permission on their driver's licenses.

Meaning fewer organ donations until the trust in the medical system is restored.

but now apparently they can transplant another source of organs: from people wanting to kill themselves.

This isn't legal in the USA, and most terminally ill patients are not candidates to donate organs. But hey, Canada is nearby and they are busy ignoring legal guidelines so they can expand  the criteria to include young depressed people, those with brain damage, or the handicapped, all of whom are an excellent source of organs.

Of course, this would not work in the USA since drug overdoses are usually used to kill people in assisted suicide, and the disease that may or may not be terminal but made you decide to end your life may also preclude decent organs.

But as Canada extends the boundary from terminal patients to the depressed and handicapped, well, voila: More organs.

Hmmm... wonder who is making money off of this? No one of course.  /s

most books about tranplantion are optimistic, and written from the point of view of the patients given new life.

the Catholic church has accepted the whole brain criteria for brain death and sees donating an organ and transplanting it as a moral choice.

Yet recent stories about premature diagnosis of brain death (which were always dismissed as an urban legend or paranoid story) have now been confirmed: and of course, in today's post covid world,  we are seeing less trust in modern medicine.

There is a reason that minority patients refuse to sign end of life directives, including organ donation: They don't trust medicine.

And this latest story, using organs from handicapped patients who were killed, is not going to help-if people know about it.

but of course they won't know about it will they?

excuse me for being cynical: it only a matter of time until what is done in China secretly is done openly and cheerfully in the west? After all, Canada is already doing it. no not on prisoners but on vulnerable people who live in a culture where their lives are seen as useless.....

China harvests organs from prisoners. Not a lot of stories about this of course.

Ironically, it was Dean Koontz, a writer of horror stories, who exposed the practice in one of his books where the rich  protagonist received a stolen heart from a Chinese prisoner as the plot.

And a news story from last week says Putin and Xi were caught laughing about getting organ transplants to stay young.

Could millionaires be far behind?

usually what is ignored in the China transplant system is that many of the hearts are taken from political prisoners including those whose only crime was belonging to a Buddhist cult, the Falun Gang

Sigh.

Steve Jobs call your office. They are making it easier for you rich guys to get organs.

............................

update: I do not know how accurate this story is:

Sunday, May 04, 2025

so why is this guy still around?

the guy's Open Society also funded end of life discussions (where many of the ethicists involved were pushing euthanasia) in the early 1990s when I published about this trend being pushed by the NEJM and the Hastings center.

and the Open Society also helped push medical marijuna becasue their aim was to legalize all drugs.

But it gets worse: He almost bankrupted Malaysia, and his shennanigans almost caused the failure of the Bank of England.

by the way: say a prayer for DataRepublican (small r)

she and her family has been harassed terribly since she started anlalyzing about corruption.

She lives in the SLC area, and you'd think the LDS community would gather around her (I don't know if she is LDS but they tend to help other social conservatives too). Yet the local press who outed her address got no pushback. Heh.

pro death party

the Democrats used to say (under Bill Clinton) that abortion should be rare but safe.

they are now celebrating it as a form of freedom, as a way for women to have career success. or as Oprah puts it: Without reproductive rights there is no American dream.

This assumes the American dream is about making money and being successful in the market place and to do this you have to get rid of things like spouses, families, and children (and old people) who stand in the way of serving the capitalistic system.

but is that true?

but most women do want families, and this is not addressed: which is why Vance's cat lady quip resulted in so much hatred.

Because many of these women who follow the trends they are being taught by our culture,  in their hearts do want children, and often lament their abortions in the depth of their heart (an unhealed wound: The left would ridicule them if they admit it, and the right and righteous are seen as condemning them for the decision they often made under duress or done with ignorance that it was killing a child).

ironically, if you read feminist essays you run across this sorrow, where often the women see the dead child as a ghost who comes to them in dreams or daydreams to haunt them. So one wonders if the high rate of depression and drug abuse and suicide in young women is from this unhealed wound.

Sigh.

By the way this is not from the religious right making them regret their decision. When I worked with psychiatrists, we had a Russian patient who was in a deep psychotic depression hallucinating a child that she had aborted. The Russian psychiatrist who was treating her told us that they saw a lot of this when he trained in Russia.

And right now I am reading about the forced abortions in China in a novel by Mo Yan: Frog, (the hint is that the Chinese word for Frog is the sound of a child's crythat has the guilt of the abortionist and how the women try to stop her, is as part of the plot,

But when her lover defects, Gugu's own loyalty to the Party is questioned. She decides to prove her allegiance by strictly enforcing the one-child policy, keeping tabs on the number of children in the village, and performing abortions on women as many as eight months pregnant. In sharply personal prose, Mo Yan depicts a world of desperate families, illegal surrogates, forced abortions, and the guilt of those who must enforce the policy. At once illuminating and devastating, it shines a light into the heart of communist China."

but you wouldn't know it from the Wikipedia page about the novel, or most of the reviews in the western liberal press.

you see, limiting population to make China prosperous was the goal of the one child policy, and the irony is that as modernity conquers the world, women are voluntarily leaving marriage and children behind in their quest to fulfill their dreams. So most Asian and Western (and even advanced Islamic) countries are facing depopulation in the next fifty years.

Sigh.

The Philippines hasn't reached that point yet, but the modern pied pipers are pushing it here too, via trendy magazines or internet influencers

For example: In the last week, there were two editorials in the Phil Inquirer. One was to tell young girls they didn't have to marry to be happy (never mind that most of the single women, especially in our OFWs, stay single to work and support their families),

and another that insists the Philippines is wrong to see children as a way to invest in the future, because the government will be doing this (as if the government in poor countries are able to do this).

sigh.

You know, there are biological aspects to life and humans have evolved to be imperfect pair bonding beings, and wanting children, like the belief in God, is not something that can be ignored (one can see it as this coming from evolution or part of human beings that God put into our patterns of life).

But either way, it is part of the reality of life. And societies that try to make a utopia that lies about this reality are not going to succeed.

Catholic scandals

the background on why Archbishop Vigano was quickly thrown out of the Catholic church, you have to realize he was willing to name names (McCarrick) and threatened to expose the lies that there is no sexual abuse or financial shennanigans going on because they cleared it up.

PBS article is full of the usual spin, but if you read into the second half of the article, they do admit he dared to expose both financial corruption and McCarrick's .

and the history of coverup is what is even more shameful:

this sounds like what was going on in Altoona in the 1990s: bad sex ed that many parents opposed, the diocese lawyer pressuring families not to report sexual abuse of their teenage son to the cops (later the bishop bragged he had no reports of sexual abuse on his watch. Right. Liar: Abuse was going on, but it wasn't reported. Duh) and the fact that any gay guy could tell you: That there were a lot of local priests openly cruising at the bars in Pittsburgh.

2016 article: whoops the coverup continues.

As for Cardinal Law: He went around bragging his pro life leadership, but when three of us asked the diocese in the early 1990s to alert locals about the pro euthanasia agenda being taught in medical schools and being pushed by the NEJM, only after a repeated request did we get an answer, and a very subtle editorial that was so subtle no one probably understood what it was about. My collegue said ironically: Law doesn't do anything because those around him keep these issues from him.

this was before Law was exposed for covering up terrible abuse and the Vatican kicked him upstairs to an office in Rome.

then I moved to Altoona,  when this was going on.

Altoona link2:

Yes, that was finally exposed by a DA (who later was jailed for leaking grand jury information on corruption in Philadelphia). And no one ever followed the clues that the the pro gay priests in State College might have been why good Catholics in State College didn't report abuse there: the Sandusky scandal.

I posted about a lot of this stuff in the past, with links.\

Some of the links, such as those by Gary Morella, are now off line, but other reports, mainly linking to the local Johnstown paper, were posted on the rightwing site FreeRepublic, on their religion discussion threads. see also  2006 article about how priests were pushed out for spilling the story to the press etc.

Leon Podles book Sacrilege documents many abuse cases. review here:

and there are links to what was going on in the seminaries back then (under Ratzinger they tried to clean this up so maybe the information is out of date).

,,,,,,,,,,,,

Complicit Clergy is one news site that does collect these reports of what is going on now.

I have no idea of what is going on here in the Philippines, where abuse of employees is winked at, where abuse of street kids is alas common, where we are the cybersex capital of the world, and where a lot of women who work overseas find they are supposed to become prostitutes: so like the USA, where Hollywood abuse was winked at, and abuse in public schools was ignored, most of it is not documented.

most of the news reports are old 2017 LINK
link2
ah but our bishops are busy pushing environmental justice or some such thing. The irony? Corruption is behind much of the environmental catastrophes here, so maybe they should be preaching honesty: You know, bribes are a no no?

like most of the Catholic church, the corrupt are not the majority and most of our priests are good hard workers who defend our people's rights against the corrupt, and preach the gospel.

Nevertheless, the dirty little secret is that when church leaders are busy following Francis' trendy green issues and talking about synodality (where I suspect few of our farmers will be asked their opinions), it means they have less time and energy to fight the gay issues and sexual exploitation of our girls and street kids.

So one of the dirty little secrets is that many Christians are now going to Protestant churches, who do give out guidelines on how God expects us to live.

Sigh.

yes I stay Catholic because I knew priests martyred for defending the human rights of their people, and because the church has been through this in the past and then cleaned up their act.

actually, EWTN has a long discussion of all these problems, and at the end LINK they reveal that most younger priests in the USA are Catholic... NYTimes is aghast at this...

Peter Damian call your office. They are at it again.

Efficiency and cost effective death (worse for minorities and handicapped)

all that stuff the AMA and other PC types about teaching racism to medical student so they are not racist misses the point: The danger is not dislike of a person's skin colour, but it is a cultural thing: a dislike of cultures that sees the sick and handicapped as part of their family responsibility, in contrast to the cost effectiveness/ efficiency of western medicine, where the culture stresses independence and a pleasant life as the goal of life.

Compare and contrast to Buddhism, where life is suffering, or of Catholicism, where we identify our suffering with that of Jesus, or of my Native American patients, who face suffering with bravery and see it as the path they are supposed to tread.

But the dirty little secret is that assisted suicide is being pushed as a right, ignoring that the dark side of this is that it is efficient: No caregiver has to give up their job, no expensive nursing home charges, and hey fewer old folks mean less money doled out on social security.

This cost effective western way of seeing things, combined with a culture by doctors that has little insight that some cultures have different priorities than success and happiness for the individual, is the real background to an ingrained racism in western medicine.

Let Anita Cameron explain: italics mine.

As access to healthcare, services and supports are being stripped from disabled people around the country,

(in the name of cost effective medical care of course)

we cannot continue to push forward with assisted suicide laws.
Cuts to funding for home care services, as well as reduction or elimination of eligibility to those services, combined with racial and disability disparities and discrimination in healthcare, will lead to those being deemed to be terminal to feel that they have no choice but to ask for assisted suicide.
Lack of access to home care givers due to workforce shortages, with workers unable to work enough hours and earn a livable wage, will further compound this.
As a disabled Black person, I am alarmed at the negative impact that the normalization of assisted suicide will have on Black disabled, in particular, because contrary to what assisted suicide proponents say, assisted suicide is all about disability.
... According to the Oregon data (Oregon was the first state to enact an assisted suicide law), the top five reasons people request assisted suicide are: loss of autonomy, decreasing ability to participate in enjoyable activities, loss of dignity, feelings of being an emotional or financial burden on family and loved ones, and loss of control of bodily functions, such as incontinence and vomiting.
These are all disability related reasons that can be addressed with services and supports, not assisted suicide.

yes, but they cost money. For example, 53 million Americans are full or part time caregivers, many of whom cut back work hours or quit work to care for their family members. An alternative  approach is nursing homes or home care, but these too cost money. But a dead person doesn't cost a lot.

The culture of caring is more common in the non elites, who see this as part of life. So how do you convince them to agree to die or let their loved ones be eliminated?

Yes, lots of money out there trying to do this.

We Blacks are overwhelmingly against assisted suicide, but there’s an organization called Compassion and Choices that’s going into Black communities trying to convince us that assisted suicide is a good thing and that it’s a right.

funding sources here. Your stock market investments at work.

That’s how they bamboozle us by couching it in those terms, because we know what it feels like not to have basic human and civil rights.
Compassion and Choices, once known as The Hemlock Society, is an organization formed and led by middle and upper middle class whites. This demographic of white people overwhelmingly support assisted suicide.

this is why I point out it is not racism per se, but a culture war: efficiency and power over true compassion and family.

Compassion and Choices hires middle class Black staff to come into our communities to spread the lie about assisted suicide because they know that we’re more likely to listen if information comes from someone who looks like us. As a result, some middle class and wealthy Blacks are falling for this farce.
As assisted suicide becomes normalized, racial disparities in healthcare will mean that Black patients will be more likely to be written off as terminal and steered towards ending our lives.

check out Dr. C's video below

Being disabled compounds this. Disabled people also experience health disparities because doctors quite literally devalue our lives, don’t want us as patients and don’t believe that we are treated unfairly.
Add being Black to that, and the risks of being written off as terminal in a state where assisted suicide is legal, rises exponentially.
In the face of rampant healthcare inequities, it’s no surprise that assisted suicide is rarely used by the Black community. We fight to live. We fight to get access to treatment. We fight for end of life treatment. We fight for medical care that most white folks take for granted. Black people, wake up

-------------------------------

this is not limited to the black community.

When I worked for the IHS we once sent a lady with frontal lobe syndrome (alert but partially paralyzed, with paradoxical crying when she was happy, something that disturbed the other patients. She also needed a feeding tube)

So we asked a neurologist about the best medicine to treat this (antipsychotics, or maybe anti seizure medicines or even beta blockers which are used in small doses for behavior outbursts in the brain damaged).

Instead, the neurologist without examining the lady except for a short glance, took the entire hour to pressure the family into removing the feeding tube. The family, who were Native Americans, kept quiet and did not respond (this was a cultural response to not saying no). But a cousin, a nurse, who was more westernized, at the end of the meeting turned to the doctor and said they wouldn't kill their relative, because Indians, unlike you white folk, don't kill our elders.

Indeed, their handicap was seen as another path that the Great Spirit gave them to walk, and often our patients in the nursing home were considered as being on the other side, i.e. able to see spirits and intercede for us.

and as assisted suicide is seen as the treatment for the sick and handicapped, the next step of course is for medical personnel to help them along, since the medical profession now sees death as a good outcome for people who are vulnerable. In the USA this is racist of course, but the mindset is already there in the UK, where N.I.C.E. guidelines stress keeping treatment cheap.

oh, the docs etc. won't push an overdose on you and voila you  are dead. They will do it indirectly, mimicking the treatment we use for truly terminal patients who need lots of sedation/pain medicine to control symptoms.

And in this blogpost discusses the problem of racism that leads to the high incidence of neonatal mortality and other problems in poor communities, both poor white, Hispanics, Native Americans and blacks.

Transplant with pigs

Tea at Trianon links to a xenotransplant, where a man was given a pig kidney.

He later died, cause of death not mentioned, and the family says thank you to the doctors for giving him seven more weeks of life.

 what's wrong with this picture?

It was unethical since an alternative treatment was available: renal dialysis.

This is not the first time the ethics have been stretched to experiment with transplanting organs.

Last year, doctors in NYC hospital did a gene edited pig kidney transplant that worked for one month. And Univ Ala did a kidney tranplant and it lasted one week.

The problem? The patients involved were "brain dead", so could not give consent. (and I am not going to go into the problems of diagnosing brain death, nor will I discuss how ethicists are trying to expand that definition to get more organ donors from people merely comatose. That is a discussion for another time).

the problem with pig transplants goes beyond ethics and the YUCK factor:

in the Massachusetts case, the gentleman and his family gave their consent, so the ethical question of choice did not occur, although one wonders if the family actually recognized the experimental danger. So the ethics was not worse than doing it on a brain dead person who had no choice.

But for the gentleman in Massachusetts, what is not mentioned in the articles is the dirty little secrets that  there is a well known treatment for kidney failure: Dialysis.
italics mine.

you can live for years on dialysis, but previous brain dead patients given transplants of pig kidneys only lived a month or two, so there was no guarantee that this would have kept him alive for a long time.

So maybe if he just remained on dialysis he might have lived a couple more years. I hope the family realizes this and gets a good lawyer to sue.

But never mind. The headlines make the doctors proud of themselves.

and oh yes: Follow the money

But surging interest in xenotransplantation, predicted by some estimates to be a $25-billion-dollar industry within the next five years

Other ethical problems about kidney transplants:  we see here in the third world:  paying a desperately poor person to risk his health donating a kidney for money, or buying one in China from a FalunGong prisoner scheduled for execution.

so was the experimental treatment of this Massachusetts gentleman cleared by the hospital ethics board?

yes I am sure that the ethics boards okayed it.

bioethicists are quite flexible in many ways, and any lay person reading the ethical literatures for the last 30 years would be shocked at things that have been proposed.

which is why civil libertarian expert Nat Hentoff once called bioethicists apologists for death, because they could always figure a way to make anything ethical, up to and including killing a patient.

Child sex trafficking in the Philippines

TeaAtTrianon post a link to this article on cybersex abuse in the Philippines.

Read the whole thing.

More HERE.

Youtube and facebook let these people get away with it, and it took a court case for the Manila police to try to track who is behind one scam.

/////////////////////////////////////////////

The first article notes: often the parents are poor and doing it for money: so when you rescue the child, they don't understand why you are doing this and see those trying to rescue them from a home where they are exploited and abused as if the rescuer, not the abusive parent, is the bad person who takes them away from the parent they love.

as an adoptive mother I have to add this:

That is the backstory to a lot of the stories the press likes to tell of bad orphanages and bad adoption: (back story of this: if orphanages and adoptions are a good alternative, hey they can't justify abortion).

Alas, since  the kids view the rescuer as evil, they subconsciously often reconfigure their memories to project the abuse memories from  their original parent who didn't want them or had abused them to the ones trying to help them., and then they project the stories about that abuse from their original family on the rescuer. Link here discusses this problem.

We were told that if we adopted a girl from Asia, she probably had been abused sexually, even if she was preschool age. And a lot of the boys were abused also: but less about this is documented because the victims won't talk about it.

sigh.

Stealth killing of useless elders blamed on covid

original article here.

translation: If someone was thought to have covid, they were given a tranquilizer to lower their anxiety but sometimes no other treatment... Of course, this tranquilizer would depress their ability to breathe, meaning it would result in them dying.

in treating such patients, there is a fine line between relieving their anxiety and causing respiratory depression, so sometimes this happens. But was a deliberate overdose given with the object to kill?

Ethically you can give pain relief and anti anxiety relief to the dying even with this risk. '

I was once accused by one nurse of overdosing one such dying patient: but when I checked him, he was moaning in pain. So I gave a dose that relieved the pain but his breathing rate went down to 8/minute but did not stop. So I had to titrate him to keep his breathing rate over 8 but not so low that he was in pain....What finally helped was a pastor who prayed over him, and he calmed down and died peacefully a few hours later without having to push extra narcotics to relieve his suffering.

However, with covid, you are not giving narcotic pain relief but anti anxiety medicine.

And the medicine cited causes respiratory depression in higher doses: in people already low in oxygen from pneumonia this can be fatal. However, relieving the suffering from air hunger is important, and can save a life because anxiety increases your oxygen consumption.

and there are traquillizers that do not slow the breathing.

and I have read some of these deaths were when doctors being phoned about a patient with covid and would just order  the tranquillizer but no other medicine (prednisone, antibiotics).

This will have to be looked into because in the UK, there was a protocol for people with severe pain from cancer, but it was found that this was ordered for people with non fatal diseases or when the cancer was not terminal.

UKGuardian article explains how this was misused.

the dirty little secret is that once euthanasia becomes a treatment, then making someone dead is not seen as bad: and the elders, handicapped and critically ill are all at risk from medical staff that sees death as an optional treatment.

there is also a question if the ventillators were overused. But that is another question for another time.
