Philippine and Asian news

Another day, another typhoon...
another earthquake too, but not near here.

One clueless senator says ferry passengers need Electronic ID bracelets so that in case of an accident, their bodies can be identified...
yet the ill fated ferry didn't even have a decent Distress signal device that was mandated ten years ago for all ferries.
More info coming out: The ferry captain said he'd detour away from the storm to avoid the signal 2. And then there is that pesticide; so far it's not leaking but why was it on a passenger ferry?

Obama might be the choice of the "in crowds", but VietNam would vote for McCain...they admire his character, but they also are thankful that he worked on normalization of trade in the 1990's..

Last year I wrote about the Rapunzels, the maids locked inside by employers who jumped from windows to escape the Lebanese war.
Now 17 maids were taken from a rich UAE family after one escaped and complained to authorities.
This is the tip of the iceburg...

100,000 due at World Youth Day in Australia...the press emphasizes sex abuse and global warming, but it's actually about holiness...about 2500 Pinoys are attending, with smaller groups from Korea, Indonesia and Japan...and an unknown number from China.
