Germans one, Romans zero

The Rome podcast of the day is about the Varian disaster in the Teutoburg forest.

This September will mark the 2000th year anniversary of that battle...that occurred on 9/11....

that disaster made Rome decide that the Rhine made a nice boundary for them to stop expanding their empire northward...and prevented Rome from assimilating the German tribes as they did to the Celts in Gaul...
