Beauty is only skin deep

Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her 'beauty tips.'

It was read at her funeral years later.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone..

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.  As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

For Ms. Hepburn, it was not just talk, since she worked as the UN Ambassador to bring attention to those in need.

my love for Hepburn took a deeper turn because of my dear dad. My dad has worked for the United Nations for a very long time and in 1992 while working with UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) my dad was stationed in Somalia with none other than Miss Audrey Hepburn.
My dad actually had no idea who Hepburn was!.... When he came home from his stint in Somalia he told me about all the good work they had done together and how genuinely kind and caring Hepburn was and it has stuck with me through all these years.
