Brother Cadfael's garden

also see this link for the Cloisters (in NYC). No, I've never managed to visit the place.

more description of monastery gardens at Medieval.net.

Brother Cadfael series can be watched on youtube, but small and fuzzy because of copyright problems.

LINK
and internet archives has the books to borrow (if you register) and also some of the shorter BBC radio version of the books for your listening pleasure.

I have read a few on Scribd, but won't link because I am annoyed at them.

They usually do good personal recommendations, but they recently started pushing "best seller" types that on the home page that has little or nothing to do with my areas of interest...

Usually the book they push is a variation of rich narcissistic educated white yuppie confronts life sooo sensitively and fights hangnails and guys who make a pass at them>.. Stuff that I don't bother to read, having little sympathy for these girls who need to grow up, since at their age I was a doc at a rural hospital in war torn Africa and was more worried about hitting landmines than having a hangnail.

but this week they are pushing a biography of the head of Planned parenthood, as if she were a heroine and wonderful person. As if everyone in the USA thinks abortion is hunky dorey.

but it's not just that they seem clueless that taking sides in a controversial subject might be a problem: It's worse:

No mention that the broad who wrote the book had been fired after one guy video taped her bragging about selling baby parts.

So I wrote them a nasty letter.

Don't mess with grandma: I have a laptop, an internet connection, and am a touch typist and can tell people off in three languages.
