un necessary Ceasarian sections?

This article appears to be a blast at modern women's refusal to go through pain in labour, so they opt for Caesarian sections...
but another reason is found in the middle of the article: That doctors worry about being sued. You see, if you did a C section , you "did everything" and can't be blamed for the retarded child, whose retardation was due to viral infection, mom's smoking, or mom's drug use.
Another reason is that many women start families in their thirties, and have prolonged labour. They also have more toxemia of pregnancy, high blood pressure, and diabetes, which might make a doctor prefer to do a less traumatic delivery so as not to stress out a baby whose placenta is "old" and not up to carrying oxygen etc during the extra burden of labour... A third reason is that the immigrant mothers may have larger babies due to the good nutrition and end up with more problems getting the child thru the birth canal. Finally, with all the intermarriage, sometimes the child takes after the larger father instead of a petit mom.
