The miners in West Virginia left notes:
"Tell all I['ll] see them on the other side," read the note written by 51-year-old mine foreman Martin Toler Jr.
"It wasn't bad. I just went to sleep. I love you."
He signed it "Jr.

One of his commenters said maybe now they will recognize there is no God who will answer their prayers...but the commenter is wrong...the essense of religion is not God as Santa Claus, but a God who is with us, even in trouble... the belief that there is a pattern in life, and that life is not limited to collecting toys, but has to do with family, work, and sacrifice...where there is sorrow, but there is joy in the morning...
