Andrew didn't quite know what to make of the clowns...but the kids had a great time...
If it wasn't for the fact that they decided to hold the ceremony to "dedicate him" to the Lord and give a one hour sermon, I'd have enjoyed myself a lot better...oh well...at least the sermon was followed by music, dancing, swimming pool, and games with the clowns...we ARE Filippinos, after all...
I guess and hour telling you to teach children the bible, raise them up with discipline, and to strictly guide them is a good sermon...(although the unspoken context I took from it was to be a good obedient Christian, not like thoes lax Catholics over there who never read the bible and are going to hell)..
Actually, five minute sermons are enough for me, so I disappeared about that time...my Tagalog isn't that well, but I understood enough to barf...
My favorite baptismal sermon is actually by a Franciscan priest at St. Joseph in Mescalero...(Apache country)...
"God knew who you would be from eternity and loved you...and the angels sang at your birth...now we joyfully welcome you into the family of God..."
