Genetic engineering

Arthur Caplan argues that much of the "science anxiety" is actually about worrying about genetic engineering.

Worrying about making new life is not a naive or paranoid idea, since genetics/eugenics, i.e. making perfect life, was the idea behind the holocaust.

The danger is if men use it for power and greed. But it also has the potential for cure. And most genetic scientists are doing it not out of greed but for love of life.

One hopes Caplan is not naive...
