12 Hunger strikers sent to hospital

I found this and previous link while reading about that meteor strike in Norway.

dozen of the refugees from Afghanistan who've been on a hunger strike in Oslo were sent to hospitals around town on Monday. The father of Norway's prime minister, who's a former foreign minister himself, was trying to negotiate with them....Many of the strikers have refused food since May 26, to protest a move by Norwegian immigration authorities to send them back to Afghanistan

So I googled Hunger strike and found there was a lot of them going on.
Some are political:
Cuban journalist to pressure the Cuban government to allow the independent press to have internet access...
Political activists in Syrian jails

Quite a few are related to pressuring various governments on laws or over labour issues:
Tamils in the UK protesting SriLankan atrocities in their civil war
Mexican prisoners complaining of jail conditions
Ukranian fishermen in New Zealand asking for a minimum wage
A New Jersey father who wants more funding for autism.
Chicago illegal immigrants who don't want to be imported
Elderly Guatamalans over losing benefits.
Tailors in India over pensions benefits,
Disabled miners in Armenia over benefits.

Then there are students: In Azerbaijan students and Indian students in Kanpur and 100 000 students in Chile on strike about admission policies.

And then for the most trivial hunger strike on record:

A lady ejected for cheating in the BigBrother (UK) TV show went on hunger strike too.
