Family news

It's another typhoon, and still raining in the house, thanks to "renovations" of concrete pillars and walkways for a future second floor that we don't need that prevent the rain from draining from our roof...so it drains into the living room. At least the bedroom is fixed, so Lolo slept thru the whole thing.

so I was up at 3 am turning off the electricity. By 6 am it stopped, and we had lights and hot water again without worrying about being electrocuted.

At 10 am, we went to Manila so I could get my Philippine residency card. It's the equivalent of an american "green card. Since my husband is now a "dual citizen", I can live here permenantly, although I have to update my card periodically (this card is good for 6 months).
--------------------
Christina has been running a fever and cough, not really sick but moping around the house instead of getting into mischief... and they went to the doctor and she had some submandibular lymph nodes, so they put her on a two month course of Rifampin...

I figure it's mononucleosis, but they want to be sure, hence the antibiotic....I'll write if anything changes.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Our cook brought over a puppy from her house: her dog had five puppies, and there isn't enough food. So now we have five dogs. Great. And they ALL love Lolo...

Up to last month, we hadfour dogs and two puppies: but the puppies were "stolen"...we're not sure who did it (probably either staff or workers). Their older brother "Puti" (i.e. Whitey) a very scary and smart watch dog is much admired...

Puti's mother is a farm dog who we got fixed after she miscarried three litters...after having her fixed, she successfully had two litters.

I can't figure if the vet misunderstood and repaired her uterus instead of cutting her tubes, or if her tubes reopened from all the milk and meat that Lolo gave her after her surgery...but she is now fertile mertyl, and usuall gets pregnant not by her "husband", our pit bull, but by a neighbor's golden retriever...
