Democide

A follow up of the Lancet article. Their data is flawed and exaggerated for political reasons...which is unfortunate, since as Hitchens points out in Slate, if 3/4 of these deaths were deliberate targeting of civilians, shouldn't that make us even more eager to stop them and not let them take over?

The link is to Wikipedia article about Democides, i.e. government sponsored deathmaking. It does not include ordinary wars as such (i.e. death from battles are not included), but civilian massacres in wars, war from disease and famine related to government action or inaction etc... .
