Headlines

Sad News: James Kim of CNET has been found dead. Interesting fact at end of story: a fellow geek helped find his family by tracing their cellphone signal.

Iraq report is out...blogosphere is not impressed. Summary:Iran and Syria as our friends...right.

Blogfather's TCS column: Dear appliances: STOP BEEPING.

Useless Medical news: Psychopaths have bad brains.

Absurd NYTimes headline of the day: Iran to Host Scholarly Seminar on Holocaust.
Scholarly? Right.
Best line in the article: Mr. Mohammadi today brushed off any idea that the seminar could advocate anti-Semitism and declared anti-Semitism to be a Western phenomenon. The proof for that, he said, was Iran’s community of 25,000 Jews...
Umm...fellahs, there were 125,000 Jews in Iran in 1948, and 80,000 there in 1979...

Good medical news: Simvastatin works to treat the endocrine imbalance in Polycystic ovary syndrome. Bad news: Usually we treat PCO so the women can get pregnant, and Simvastatin is "catagory x" in pregnancy, since it causes fetal malformations in animals.
