Some generals negotiating with one of the Moro groups, MNLF, were stopped from leaving the camp. For two days it was a question if they had been kidnapped or what.
Now it turns out that the delay was because the group wanted publicity.

And then after the press arrived, they had to wait to kill an cow and hold a party.
StrategyPage has a summary. The MNLF actually signed peace years ago, but has been starting to make trouble again. They want the Saudis to be in on the renegotiations.

The Taliban, who is getting breathless coverage on the BBC news this morning...big spring offensive coming, and the BBC quotes all their threats, but no comment from the other side...Strategypage says they are planning an offensive, but NATO is killing so many that the Taliban is having trouble finding recruits in Pakistan: lots want to fight, but the parents are nixing it, since they think it's too dangerous.
