Stuff below the newspaper fold

Piracy...it's not a laughing matter.
Notice that the attacks are in areas that used to be patrolled by the British Navy..
i.e. in the Indian ocean and off the coast of Africa, where the US does not have traditional interests...

Here's a report on some Korean hostages, where the local gov't seems to be wringing their hands about it...Pinoy sailors and oil workers have also been victims...
------------------------------------------

Southern Iraq is peaceful...CNN has a report HERE...and THIS is good news...so does THIS and THIS...
--------------------------------

Shrinking deficit? What shrinking deficit?
------------------------------------

Attention conspiracy theorists...
THIS was widerly condemned as a hate crime...but now, victim's lawyer and police say no...her lawyer says she' s not sure what happened, so how can they rule out "hate crime".... unless of course there is evidence of something else that occurred...Drug related crime? Boyfriend? slipped on a banana peel?

Update: Gawker says Bloody Mary did it...
------------------------------

Turkish hackers took down artist Michael O'Brien's site twice because he posted an essay on Bendict's speech and Islam...
Well, they tried the same thing against Swedish websites...and the Swedish hackers said: Payback time...
