Save the Three foot long Spitting Earthworm!

And of course, it's Bush's fault:
“The giant Palouse earthworm is extremely rare and faces substantial risk of extinction,” said Noah Greenwald, conservation biologist with the Center for Biological Diversity. “Denial of protection for the earthworm is all too typical of the Bush administration..

Ummm...wait a second. Despite searching for it from 46 different sites, the worm has only been spotted once since 1988...

Indeed, most native American earthworms went extinct a bit before the Bush Administration started their war against small cuddly creatures:

The finding is also significant because nearly all earthworms in North America are believed to have arrived here with European colonists, hitching a ride in the dirt around the roots of plants from afar. But the giant Palouse earthworm is so different that it is believed to be a native, somehow surviving the little ice age 10,000 years ago that some experts believe should have wiped out any American worms.

See....blame it on Global warming! It IS Bush's fault.
