Good news stories you might have missed

Actually, a lot of these I tried to post Sunday but the internet went off and on...

NYTimes story of the Pastor to the Hardhats."...Four construction workers were known to be dead, and the bodies of two more workers would be found days later (along with the body of a woman who had been visiting from South Florida). Their surviving comrades lifted off their hard hats as the priest sprinkled holy water amid the wreckage and prayed that God would grant the souls of the departed eternal rest...."

In RedLake, our clergy would always come and help comfort families in cases of accidents...or violence....and were a great comfort...

Irena Sendler has died...AgainstTheGrain blog has links....
, Mrs. Sendler’s group of about 30 volunteers, mostly women, had managed to slip hundreds of infants, young children and teenagers to safety. “She was the inspiration and the prime mover for the whole network that saved those 2,500 Jewish children,”

Not a "heartwarmer" but important: Glaxo licenses bird flu vaccine...

Yup. Evil big business drug companies are like Tommy Atkins:

For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;

or in this case, Bird Flu, with it's high mortality...
