At link: Corn cakes, fried chicken, and Fried Green Tomatoes...all dripping in fat and fried in one dish.
I posted it because we had souther fried barbecue style chicken for supper...
Actually, Lolo taught our cook how to mix the flour and spices to make the deep fry barbecue chicken, and we had that with rice...we have rice at every meal (remember, we grow and sell organically grown brown rice). As for corn, it is corn on the cob season (but again for the last five days I can't swallow it...sigh). I'm still with a sore throat so the cook made me some chicken Mami soup (that's what they call Ramen noodeles here, aka "oodles of noodles" or sphaghetti soup in the US, served with an egg mixed in).
Our local tomatoes are tiny Roma tomatoes: but they are sweet (like those you grow, not the tasteless ones in the supermarket).
And did you know we have banana catsup here? It's a lot cheaper than Heinz...which they also sell here...
