Tips for today...laundry

How to make a cheap version of odor removing spray for clothes LINK..
two thirds strength fabric softener?
I used to replace drier sheets with FSoftener on a cloth...worked, but if it was too wet, it left stains on some clothing...

or to remove odor from your laundry....bleach, lemon, and....cheap cola?

For (white) bedsheets, bleach works best...and if you can you leave them in the sun....

We don't have a drier in the Philippines: usually you wash in a big basin under a spigot...and soak the sheets/underware/towels before you wash and rinse.

Usually we use powder, and a thick soap for stains and scrub. The soap is stong...I once did my own stains and was left with chapped hands (we docs used to call this "dishpan hands" in the days before gloves and dishwashers).

We did buy a washer and drier...the US versions cost a fortune, so we have a washer, and a spinner/drier...it spins the sheets and towels, which makes it a lot easier for the ones doing the laundry...and then we hang the clothes out (under a roof if it is raining).

So in rainy season, you have to iron the clothes to get them really dry...
