Eat Feed in Season

Eat Feed in Season has several podcasts...

if you eat in season, the food is fresh.
Of course, if you live in Northern Minnesota, you might prefer to have a California orange or Mexican tomato once in awhile.

Their blog links to this recipe, for rustic winter stew...it is pork with sauerkraut, and indeed sauerkraut is a "in season" food for winter.
For a side dish, try Rutabagas...
What, no Lutefisk recipes?
How to microwave Lutefisk....(they forgot step four:throw out after tasting)

------------------

Here we tend to eat from the Palenke, which means local food (rice, veggies, and meat or fish).

The photo is of our gourmet brown rice...which we eat at every meal...even breakfast (usually yesterday's rice is stir fried to heat it for breakfast).

About the only "seasonal" food is the fruit which we have for desert...right now, it's bananas...we have five trees in our yard...most tend to be smaller and straighter than US bananas, some sweeter, some have more texture...Lolo knows the names but I tend to forget the local names.
