There's a discussion at Pajamas media about prejudice in the US...including discussion of the elite Brit snobs at the BBC who paint a negative picture of the US.
But LINK1 and LINK2 at AlJezeerah has another point of view. Even CNN found tolerance...but if the person looked Muslim and acted suspiciously, they'd probably find a problem...
Is there prejudice in the US? Of course: try "driving while Hispanic(or black, or Indian).
but the dirty little secret is that most immigrant groups went through the same thing...and those who think it is only racial prejudice forget that the Irish, Polish, Eastern European Jews and now Hispanics are going through the same thing.
The difference is that if you work hard, and send your kids to college, they can do anything, whereas in the Philippines, or in Colombia, or in the UK, if you don't belong to the elite class, you have trouble breaking the "glass ceiling"...
