The paradox of Earth Day

I have an essay up on the paradox of Earth day up on BNN...
mainly saying fine, but you have to be rich enough to "afford" green technology or the people will revolt.

On the other hand, pollution kills...
What has gotten little publicity are things like THIS...
New research suggests the Chinese nuclear tests from 1964 to 1996 claimed more lives than those of any other nation. Professor Jun Takada, a Japanese physicist, has calculated that up to 1.48m people were exposed to fallout and 190,000 of them may have died from diseases linked to radiation.

But the number of nuclear accidents from all causes is huge..
.most with only a few casualties a piece...
I once worked "downwind" from Trinity site...and always wondered if all the cancer among the Apache was due to their exposure to radiation...
