The History Channel has a series: Clash of the Gods and The One Ring Net reports that they will air a program about Tolkein's LOTR on it.

We don't get the History Channel, but I've downloaded two episodes of the series, both about ancient Greece (via torrents) and I give them a B....accurate, but not deep, and a bit graphic with an emphasis on the colour red.
