Family news

good news: The latest typhoon veered north, and the sun is out today.
So it cause problems in the northern Philippines, but not here, and missed Manila except for a bit of ordinary rain run off downstream.
The clean up in Manila will continue for awhile, and they held a collection in church to send aid. The Inquirer has a headline: Flood survivors drowning in noodles.

The favorite "emergency" food is Ramen noodles, (here called Mami noodles) that are easy to cook in hot water. (in contrast, you have to boil rice a bit). But so many have been donated that they are asking people to stop sending noodles and send soap and underware instead.

Chano and Joy and staff are going to Manila to set up for a trade fair.
We are all well.
