At one time, Tolkien and CSLewis planned to write a book about language, but it fell through, probably because they both went on to other projects, not to mention that their theories on language were quite different (philology/old English vs philosophy/Elizabethan English).
A lot of Tolkien's failed projects ended up in the various books edited by his son, because he edited things over and over again and saved everything, but usually CS Lewis wrote quickly and threw out everything.
But now, Professor Beebe has found the lost manuscript.
