I usually try to stay away from politics on weekends, but I love the writing of Dominick Dunne, and MarkSteyn's obituary about him does mention some inconvenient women who encountered some VIP's in Hollywood or other posh neighborhoods...

Mercer is mentioned in the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", but is best remembered for this song.
An interesting link: Dunne's fictional Truman Capote (Basil Plant) character is portrayed quite sympathetically in this book....
