Evergreen trees and mistletoe are used to decorate for Christmas season, but the Hallowed Yew is a lesser known evergreen that has positive and negative folklore associations: as the Tree of life, because it is an evergreen, and as a tree of death, associated with the Roman Furies, because it is so poisonous.
