Gettysburg

The first week in July is, of course, the anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, the turning point in the US civil war.

I used to visit the battlefield with my kids.

The most famous part of the battle, of course, is Pickett's charge....but one of the lesser known but more important part of the battle occuredon July 1, when Chamberlain's men stop Lee's army from flanking the Union troops.
