Cyberwar with votes?

So, they decided to try "on line" voting, and guess what? They got hacked.

Hackers infiltrated the District of Columbia’s online voting system last week. They changed all votes for mayor to Master Control Pro and elected HAL 9000 the council chairman. The blaring University of Michigan fight song played whenever a new ballot was successfully cast.

The bad part of the story? It took the election board two days to notice.

The really bad news? Chinese and Iraninan hackers were busy trying to hack the site too.

The really really bad news? They are stopping the voting now, but plan to continue the program, figuring they will only have to put more tweaks into the system to make it safe. Presumably something complicated that a college sophmore won't be able to hack.
