Musical Interlude of the day
Monday was the feast of St Francis of Assisi.
If you see a statue of a guy wearing a brown robe holding birds, that's him. His love of animals is famous, and he even once saved the life of a wolf who was stealing the local's sheep: He talked to the wolf, and told him not to kill any more domestic animals, and then instructed locals to put out food for the animal.
Some churches hold blessing of the pets on the Sunday nearest to his feast day.
Little known fact of St Francis: He was held as a POW for a year, and after returning home, he turned to God and a life of poverty, rejecting his rich father's materialism. Does that make him the patron saint of those with PTSS?
Several prayers attributed to him may be modern inspirations, but His song, Canticle of the Sun is genuine. It has been put to music many times but this old version is still my favorite:
