Snickerdoodles!
:

epicurious writes"...Snickerdoodles, adapted from the recipe I use from my mom's 1957 Betty Crocker cookbook, to yield about 5 dozen:

Blend 2 sticks of softened butter with 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2 large eggs, then stir in a whisked-together mix of 2 3/4 cups flour, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt. Roll the dough into walnut-size balls and roll into a bowlful of 3 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Arrange 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets and bake at 400 degrees until puffed, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a rack and cool to a crisp.
