My next lecture series to listen to is Professor Miano's history of ancient Rome.
I already listened to a previous series of his on ancient Egypt: he's good but tends to ramble at times.
And Professor Isabelle Pafford has a course limited to the Roman Empire that is very good also.

Lots of other books at Librivox: some of the latest:
Wit and Humor of America Vol 01, The by Various
Children of Odin, The by Colum, Padraic
Atlantis: The Antediluvian World by Donnelly, Ignatius Loyola
Yes, that last one is the one that started the modern Atlantis craze.

An older podcast from Astronomy cast:
Ep. 112: Death From the Skies, Interview with Phil Plait...We say it all the time here on "Astronomy Cast: the Universe is trying to kill us. This week, Pamela is joined by Dr. Phil Plait to discuss his new book, Death from the Skies. Phil and Pamela talk about asteroid strikes, solar flares and gamma ray bursts..."
see, you don't need to listen to Art Bell to get paranoid about these things....
