The sad news today is that the former defense chief scheduled to testify before the Philippine congress about an ongoing scandal has "committed suicide".
the Inquirer notes he was shot in the left chest..
he was an ally of our lovely ex president....
the family is now asking for privacy, presumably so they won't be asked why the family with him and his body guard who was with him didn't notice he had a loaded gun with him...
