Factoid of the day

as the saying goes: A fox has many tricks, a porcupine just one...a very good one.

FTBlog Image of the Week: from Arbroathblog: Cheetah vs. Porcupine

the factoid of the day: The originator of the phrase was Archilochus who lived about 650 BC and wrote poetry.

Of course, since porcupines are American, the actual quote used the word for the European hedgehog in his saying.

Factoid two: European hedgehogs and porcupines are not related. From iHow:

Hedgehogs eat insects and when attacked, curl into a ball. Porcupines eat plants and when attacked, smack their tails against the attacker, leaving quills behind.
