Lord of the Rings is number one, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is 2, and Ender's game is number three.
Most of the rest are well known, including some by Asimov, Heinlein, Phillip Dick, etc, (although some of the more recent"fantasy" ones I haven't read..wonder if they'll be on a list 40 years from now).
also on the list: Frankenstein, HGWells, Orwell, and CSLewis' space trilogy.
missing: Harry Potter.
