Tips for the long holiday

Tips on how to cope with fatigue over the holiday from Homesanctuary:

be grateful, be graceful, and be thankful...

------------------------

I am bemused at all the newspaper articles on how to not gain weight over the holidays by "eating right" etc.

So the health police grinches will destroy your holiday fun with their guilt trips? Yet in the long run, they forget that holidays are part of life, and that there are more important things than being "healthy" by keeping your weight and cholesterol down.

A better approach is to remember:

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

And for Christians, remember: there is a time for feasting and a time for fasting....If you fast during Lent you will lose all that weight.

So ignore the health police and remember the reason for the season: That life is stronger than death, that family matters, and that the birth of a child is a reason for rejoicing.
