Comedian Stephen Colbert stands on a model of the space treadmill named after him, the Combined Operational Load-Bearing External Resistance Treadmill (COLBERT).

Colbert is a long term supporter of NASA and space travel
Actually, he won a contest for having a node in the space station named for him, but NASA nixed the idea so all he got was a lousy treadmill.

well, it could be worse: Dave Barry made fun of North Dakota and ended up having a sewage pumping station named after him in North Dakota.

Words cannot convey what it feels like to look at a building with your name on it -- a building capable of pumping 450,000 gallons of untreated sewage per day -- and hear the unmistakable WHUPWHUPWHUP of North Dakotans enthusiastically applauding with heavy gloves. It was a wonderful occasion, until they took me on a tour of the pumping station. When they opened the door, WHOOSH, we were engulfed by a cloud of pent-up fumes from the Outhouse From Hell. Trees wilted as far away as Wisconsin.
