IF you name your new baby Katniss, you are actually naming her for the Sagittaria plant, better known as the arrowroot.and this article discusses the names, most of which are plant based names (the article seems unaware that Rue is an herb)...no source on the name Petta, but I suspect it is either from Pita bread or from Peter, pronounced Peeta in some American dialects.
