Dennis Fitch RIP

the legendary pilot Dennis Fitch has died. Years ago, there was the miracle in the cornfield: the United 232 crash: An airplane that lost all it's hydraulics (steering, flaps) managed to crash-land in a huge ball of fire in Iowa City: over 100 died, but 180+ lived. The flight crew managed to land it because they steered by manipulating the engine power. Al Haynes was the pilot, but the crew was joined by a pilot who was a passenger: Dennis Fitch, a pilot who helped control the throttles to land the plane. Youtube film here. more here:
